babycarQuestion:

Is it possible for my name to be on the title for my car?

Im 17 in April and i bought a car in December and my mom has been telling me that i am not allowed to put my name on the title but i have had people tell me that i can have my name on the title as long as a parent co-signs. So can i have my name on the title with a parent to co-signer or no?
Answer:

Yes, it’s possible. A 3 year old could have a car in his or her name for that matter. But it really doesn’t matter, even if it were only in your name, your parents would still have control over it until you hit 18, and unless it’s in the name of a parent and you added as driver, you’ll have a hard time getting insurance and it will cost you more.

But settle it, because generally you only have 30 days to transfer title without having to pay a penalty.
